Creative Fundraisers MK | Empowering Young Creatives to Turn Ideas into Action

Most young creatives don’t lack imagination. What they often need are the tools and confidence to turn their ideas into reality. Creative Fundraisers MK was designed to bridge that gap—helping emerging talent in Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire learn how to fund, grow, and sustain their creative projects.

Delivered by Youth Visionaries CIC with support from Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy, this three-part programme brought together 20 young people for two intensive weeks of learning, collaboration, and practical skill-building.

What We Did

Participants explored the fundamentals of creative fundraising — from identifying funding opportunities to building realistic budgets and crafting compelling pitches. With guidance from our expert facilitator, Zion Jamal Johnson, they developed personal fundraising toolkits and action plans to take their projects forward.

What We Achieved

By the end of the programme, participants reported significant boosts in confidence and clarity. They left not only with new skills, but also with the mindset and motivation to approach funders, sponsors, and partners with conviction.

Why It Matters

Creative Fundraisers MK has shown that fundraising doesn’t have to feel like a maze — it can be a map. With the right blueprint and support, young people can unlock opportunities, sustain their ideas, and shape the creative future of their communities.

Looking Ahead

This programme marks just the beginning of our commitment to empowering young creatives. Youth Visionaries CIC will continue creating spaces where young people can lead, build practical skills, and drive cultural change across our communities.

The future is bright — and it’s being built by the young people we’ve had the privilege to support.
